01 : Arrive in Lhasa
We can arrive in Lhasa via direct flights from Nepal or via mainland China. If we decide to fly from Nepal, we will then enjoy an hour-long flight across the beautiful Himalayas that will take us across Everest (8,848m), Kanchenjunga (8,536m) and the Himalayan peaks. And other glaciers. If we choose to go to Lhasa via mainland China, we may fly from major cities. You can also take the world’s highest railway line to Lhasa. When we arrive in Lhasa, a representative from Sawasdee Nepal will pick us up at the airport or train station. This will be about an hour’s drive to our designated hotel in Lhasa. We recommend getting enough rest during the rest of the day to reduce altitude sickness. Overnight in Lhasa

03 : Ganden Monastery and Drayerpa Caves
In the morning, we drove to Ganden Monastery, located on top of Mount Wangbur (3,800 m) in Lhatse County, 57 km east of Lhasa. The ‘three greats’ from the six Gelug Sect monasteries in Tibet. The Ganden Monastery has very delicate and ornate murals and sculptures. It also keeps the jewel-encrusted armor worn by Emperor Qianlong and given to the temple as an offering to Tsong Khapa, the founder of the Gelug sect. In the afternoon, we drive to Drayerpa Cave, located in a beautiful valley. Beautifully landscaped, there are more than 30 caves for llamas to meditate in a peaceful environment. In the evening, we drive back to Lhasa and spend the night.

Sightseeing in Lhasa: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar.
After breakfast, we visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. Built in the 14th century, Drepung Monastery is believed to have housed around 10,000 monks in the past but is now in decline. Most likely, there were only a few hundred of them. Tibetan history, culture and religious beliefs are concentrated and central in this amazing monastery. Sera Monastery is a preserved monastery with whitewashed walls and a golden roof. Jokhang Temple is another significant sacred site that reveals the deep-seated mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism. We continue to the Barkhor Bazaar (market) with open-air stalls, shops and crowds of pilgrims. This makes it the nerve center of Lhasa. Overnight in Lhasa
